Happy Thanksgiving from the VIPKid Team!

Happy Thanksgiving, VIPKid community! We’ve been celebrating National Gratitude Month throughout November, and it all culminates today—a day created for giving thanks.

So, we’d like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all of the exceptional teachers who make the wheels turn at VIPKid. Those who wake up at 4:00 in the morning, pour a cup of coffee and throw on a smile to teach their regulars. The ones who come home from a long day at their “normal” job, open their laptop, and dive right into a lesson on parallelograms. The teachers who surprise themselves with their newly-discovered puppetry skills, and those who hate to sing but do it for the love of their students. Thank you to the teachers who choose every day to join us on this exciting—and sometimes rocky!—journey to use global classrooms to create global citizens. It’s been a wild ride, and we’re thrilled to have you with us.

This year has been a big one for VIPKid. We held our first ever regional conference in Salt Lake City. We celebrated one full year of the Rural Education Project to provide online education to children in provincial communities in China. We even adopted a giant panda and got ourselves a new look! And then, of course, we celebrated a monumental five year anniversary surrounded by the magic of Disney World and hundreds of VIPKid teachers from around the globe. Put simply, we have a lot to be grateful for this year.

We’re so grateful, in fact, that our team made a special video to share with you. Check it out below, and share a comment with the things you’re most thankful for this year!

Thank you, VIPKid teachers. Wishing you a joy-filled holiday with friends and family!

  1. I’m thankful for the opportunity to teach…and am looking forward to my first class STILL!
I’m thankful for that student who finally gives me that BIG CHANCE!!

  2. I am most thankful that I have a full schedule every week and I have some amazing students. Thank you VIPKID for allowing me this wonderful opportunity.

  3. I’m thankful for my family and friends, for having a wonderful and supportive husband, my children, my pets, having a home to live in and share with family and friends, I’m thankful for my church family and the freedom to attend church and worship God, I’m thankful for good food and naps!

  4. Thanks to the San Francisco VIPKID team. Awesome video. It was neat to answer the questions for myself as I listened to you. I am grateful for all that you do to make my VIPKID teaching life special. JaneSF

  5. Great video!!! It’s always good to remember to reflect on the things and opportunities that we have. I can truly say that I have much to be thankful for. My parents were able to drive 6 1/2 hours to stay with us during Thanksgiving. I am thankful and grateful for that. I don’t get to see them enough.
After filling our plates and our bellies we played our traditional game of Dominoes. I actually won this year (a rare thing for me).
It was sad to say goodbye (they just left a few minutes ago)… but I am so thankful they were able to come and we had another holiday together.
Tis the season to be jolly! Wishing everyone multiple reasons to be happy and joyful. 🙂

  6. I loved this especially the woman who spoke around 4:40 about how if she loves someone, she cooks for them. I’m exactly the same way! This was a sincere video that makes me proud to work for VIPKid! Happy Thanksgiving!

  7. I am thankful to be a new teacher at VIP Kid. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you all and be a member of the team. I have been looking for this type of opportunity for a long time.

  8. I am just happy that I wake up every day and I’m healthy – without those two things – we can’t face anything or anyone that comes our way, for good or bad, or love what we love! Just being here is a gift so I can see what interesting things the day holds.

  9. Fun video. Thanks for the reminder of being appreciative, grateful, and humbled by all we have! Love you much! Teacher Belle (((HUGE hugs)))
