2018 has been a year full of milestones and growth for VIPKid. Not only did we celebrate our five-year anniversary, we adopted a panda, organized three Journey conferences in Salt Lake City, Dallas and Orlando, forged some major partnerships with the biggest names in education (hello, Scholastic) and welcomed even more teachers into the VIPKid community. It’s been a busy year and we’re still catching our breaths, but before it’s over, we have one more accomplishment to celebrate…and it’s a big one.
This month, VIPKid was recognized as one of Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work for 2019. We ranked #67 out of the hundreds of thousands of companies on Glassdoor! Unlike most other awards, there is no self-nomination or application process; instead it’s entirely based on the feedback teachers have voluntarily and anonymously shared on Glassdoor about what it’s like to teach for VIPKid.
We couldn’t be more honored and grateful for the teachers who have taken the time to let others know how much they love their job. From the flexible hours and easy lesson plans to the adorable students and animal companions, here’s a few snippets of what they’re saying:
“No commute, no child care, no savvy business clothes, no commuting in the snow, and the best part is every day is ‘bring your cat to work day!’”
“Meet-up opportunities to connect with other teachers help make a global company feel a bit more local. And the students are so sweet and special. I never knew that students half a world away could capture my heart so thoroughly!”
“Best side hustle! Work from home, don’t need to a hire a sitter for your own kids, work as much as little as you want, zero prep or stress.”
It’s comments like these that fuel us to keep working towards making VIPKid one of the best places to work, and we’re determined to be even higher on the list next year! So keep sharing what you love about VIPKid and sending in tips for us to improve. It’s thanks to YOU and your dedication to teaching that we’ve come so far and I, for one, am excited to see where we’ll go next!
